Galaxy National School took a new initiative on “The Indian Monument Exhibition”. The exhibition is based on Indian Monuments theme and attracts large number of visitors to view new artifacts every year in Ahmednagar. Through such programme school is trying to allow students to experience the collection on many significant art pieces of Indian States architecture and monuments which generally remains out of focus. Also, it inculcates scientific and cultural values towards our national heritage. The exhibition showcases variety of monuments around the Indian nation specifically Maharashtra. Maharashtra is a state of historic and magnificent monument including Gatway of India, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Shaniwar Wada, Agakhan Palace and Deekshabhoomi. The most popular historical monuments of Maharashtra also include Ambernath Shivalaya Temple, Ajanta Ellora Caves, Bibi-ka-maqbara, Raigad Fort and Sindhudurga sea Fort. These variety of historical architecture is projected by our students through various means such as art, models, dance drama, infographics, speech, 2D and 3D projects.
A computer exhibition is held every year wherein students showcased static and working models which can be used for learning various computer concepts for children of the age group 13-18 years. The objective was not only to inculcates a scientific attitude and research –mindedness but also creating teaching aids. It involves students and psychomotor aspects of the task. Students showcased their talents on creativity and innovation.
Student-teachers from the computer group across all the programmes of School of Education Participated in this activity and made models which are used as teaching aids during their school internship programme later. They had chosen topics from IT Zest Computer books from standard one to Standard Nine. A teaching aid is a very effective tool to make the classroom experience of the student very real and meaningful students had mad still models, working models, charts and posters to present their topics. All the Teachers take the initiative of encouraging the students to put up such a wonderful and enlightening exhibition. Students had prepared models like Computer Monitor, Desktop, CPU. Charts based on facts, rules and regulations for using computer, some innovative ways to make students understand the concepts of computer etc. students were encouraged to develop a IT fervor and an attitude of research mindedness so that they develop the qualities of analytical and critical thinking.
